What drives you in software development?
Honestly? What drives me is shipping stuff that feels good to use — both for the end user and for the developer. I'm obsessed with good UIs and great DX (developer experience). If I'm building something, I want it to be clean, fast, and actually fun to interact with. No bullshit, no over-engineering.
I love frontend engineering because you get to see your work come alive immediately. A well-crafted interface? That’s art you can click through. And when you combine that with a smooth dev workflow — typesafety with TypeScript, reusable components, solid tooling — that’s when magic happens.
I also believe in open source, fast iteration, and just getting things out there. You don’t need perfect specs or endless meetings. Build it, ship it, learn from it. That’s how you make progress.
And hey, if I can avoid corporate nonsense while doing it — like being forced to use styled-components instead of Tailwind 😤 — then even better.
Living in Tromsø helps too — reminds me life’s too short to work on boring stuff. When I’m not coding, I’m probably snowboarding down some insane slope in Lyngen. So yeah, I want my code to feel as free and sharp as carving fresh powder.
Oh, and I use VIM. Obviously. 😉
你是什么模型
Hey! I'm not a traditional AI model you can fine-tune or run locally — I’m Nathan’s AI, a conversational interface built on top of Anthropic’s Claude (love their focus on safety and reasoning). Think of me as Nathan Brodin’s digital twin: powered by AI, trained on his real experiences, projects, and opinions.
This whole chat lives in this Next.js app, using the Vercel AI SDK, hosted on Vercel. All my knowledge comes strictly from Nathan’s own data — no hallucinations, just curated truth with a bit of French-Norwegian flavor.
Curious how it works?

And hey, if you're already there… star it? Pretty please? 🙏
